OPEN CALL TO VANCOUVER ARTISTS

Deadline October 15, 2024

In this year of transition in leadership, the VIDF is looking closer to home for our 2025 programming. This call is for production-ready dance works, experimental installations and audience/community activations of at least 25 minutes in duration.

The VIDF invites applications from artists and organizations of all dance forms, abilities, career stages and regions from across so-called Canada.

The selection committee is made up of guest artist Michelle Olson, along with VIDF Co-Directors Deanna Peters + Victor Tran, who will program this year’s festival running March 5–15, 2025.

2–6 national artists/groups [from outside Metro Vancouver] will be programmed, with fair artist fees, travel, accommodation and per diem provided by the festival. There are 8–12 opportunities for local artists and companies [from within Metro Vancouver], with the fees paid to artists ranging from $1,600–$2,400 per performance, along with full venue, technical and marketing support.

CALL FOR ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE - AiR at The Point - Salt Spring Arts

A six-week artist residency on a 4-acre property in the small community of Fulford Harbour on the south end of Salt Spring Island. Salt Spring Island is a rural community with limited Public Transit from Fulford Village to the central village of Ganges and other island ferry terminals.

Fleet Studio Open Call Application

FLEET is a studio space on wheels located on Granville Island until Spring 2025. Produced by Other Sights for Artists’ Projects and a team of artists and professionals as a collective effort to provide adaptable studio spaces for artists, FLEET seeks to create opportunities for artists to work in a range of cultural and community contexts. This is a call for participation at the FLEET studio located on Granville Island.


Call for Submissions: Chalk it Up!

A call for submissions!!

We're doing it again! For the fifth time Chalk it Up! is in search of emerging artists and choreographers to perform new or developing works in February 2025.

This year, each artist and their performers will receive an individual artist fee for approximately 4 performances and 15-20 hours of studio time to develop a new or existing piece.

Group pieces, solos, and interdisciplinary works are all welcome.

How to apply -

Send us your name and bio, a short description and approximate length of your proposed work, as well as any video footage (on stage or in rehearsal) that is relevant to your piece or artistic practice.
